Eric Geboers took the initiative in 2008 to bring the Grand Prix from Namur to Lommel. The existing team of Namur was strengthened with Jo De Munck (GPs & MxoN Circuit Zolder) and Johan Boonen (Former GP winner), who is currently leading the Grand Prix. In addition, a team of motivated employees has been ready for years to make the event a success.
GP Flanders vzw is the non-profit organization in which it is united, and aims to promote Belgian motorsport, while at the same time strengthening the economic and touristic impact of the region. In the first place, this is done by organizing high-quality events, in collaboration with important institutional partners such as Sport Vlaanderen and the host city of Lommel.
